Welcome to the Wonderful World of Chess
My name is Branislav Francuski known by children as Mr. B. I would like to welcome and guide your children and you through the magical and wonderful world of the ancient game of Chess.
I have been working as a professional chess educator in New York City for more than twenty years. I hold an advanced degree in Education since 1982, and have been working with varying school age of children ever since.
I take great pride in the fact that many of my students have become excellent chess players by my personal coaching, and others have succeeded in other areas. Not everyone can be a champ, but everyone can enjoy learning and playing the game. It's easy to find a chess coach, but harder to find a chess educator who teaches kids beyond chess.
Usually throughout a school year I organize several scholastic chess tournaments, as well as chess and soccer camps during school breaks.
I also authored a book on the subject: "Back to Basics – Fundamentals", in which the essential building blocks of the royal game are presented simply and in an easy-to-understand format.
Feel free to look around and see why is chess good for your kid, and if you wish, you may contact me for lessons.
Why Should My Kid Play Chess?
Chess influences the development of one's personality, helps intellectual, emotional and social growth.
Chess playing kids do better at school and have better chance to succeed in life. Children involved in chess programs earn higher grades in mathematics and English, and have greater overall success in school.
